For homeschooling families

Curriculum

Liberty Villages provides resources for homeschooling families. The beauty of homeschooling is the ability to build a custom designed curriculum that meets the goals of each individual.

Resources we use

We believe everyone has their own abilities and passions and should have the flexibility to pursue them to the best of their potential. For our own homeschooling, we used a combination of prepared curriculums, online courses, and homeschooling co-op classes. Below are some of the resources that we found useful.

  • Khan Academy logo

Khan Academy's library of trusted practices and lessons covers math K-12 through early college, grammar, science, history, AP®, SAT®, and more. KA aligns with our standards and is free for learners and teachers.

  • Mises Academy logo

The Mises Institute exists to promote teaching and research in the Austrian school of economics, individual freedom, honest history, and international peace. It is a global educational organization, seeking to make as many resources as possible available online at no charge. Their website offers many thousands of free books and hours of audio and video learning along with online classes, seminars, and courses on philosophy, history, and economics.

  • A spread of Sonlight curriculum books

Sonlight is a Christian based homeschooling curriculum that uses quality literature as the backbone of their program. They provide easy-to-use lesson plans, schedules, and materials from preschool through high school.

  • Ron Paul Revolution logo

Endorsed by former doctor and senator Ron Paul, this is a curriculum for K-12 that is self-taught. Students learn from daily videos, and from the Q&A forums in which students ask and answer questions.

  • Udacity logo

Udacity began as an experiment in online learning, when Stanford instructors Sebastian Thrun and Peter Norvig elected to offer their "Introduction to Artificial Intelligence" course online to anyone, for free. Today, Udacity proudly offers aspiring learners across the globe the opportunity to participate in, and contribute to, some of the most exciting and innovative fields in the world.

  • Coursera logo over partner university crests

Every course on Coursera is taught by professors from universities and companies. Hundreds of free courses give access to video lectures, homework exercises, and community discussion forums. Coursera also provides options for many different types of certifications as well as online degrees.

  • Florida Virtual School logo

There are many state led online schools available. K-12 public, private, and homeschooled students can use FLVS or other state courses to work with their own time and schedules.

  • Tampa Bay HEAT logo

A Christian homeschool group in the Tampa Bay area that offers a wide range of classes, as well as competitive sports. The HEAT offers homeschooling support for preschool through high school graduation.
